Meet Q4!

Q4 is the joining of four happy people who are members of the Pacific Sound Chorus and Harmony Northwest Chorus and are Karen Carter, tenor; Laurajean Welch, lead; Randa Zaitz, baritone; and Carol Ward, bass.

Some "Q to the fourth power" figures...

• Total years of barbershop experience:  a whole lot (in fact, we won Region 13's "Old As Dirt" award for the highest placing "senior" quartet...not that we're telling you how old we all are!)

• Total number of Regional quartet medals: 6 first place; 9 second place; 3 third place, 2 fourth place and 2 fifth place

• Total number of quartets we've been in: a bunch

• Total number of quartet costumes and black shoes we own: unfathomable!

With all this experience, it's no wonder Q4 started with a bang! Before we had sung a note together, we registered our name, registered for competition, purchased a competition gown, designed a logo, accepted a performance on the Jet Cities Show , and set two chorus audition dates. We are definitely not letting any grass grow under our feet. 

Q4 owns Regional bling!

At our first contest, held April 21, 2006 in Spokane, WA, Q4 was thrilled to be named the 4th Place Region 13 Quartet medalists. Fourth place, Q4, quartet...seems rather prophetic, yes?

Fast forward to 2008, and Q4 was named the second place quartet medalists! And in 2009, it was a repeat performance and another second place medal. We're very proud and excited.
